Danica & Debussy

Danica & Debussy

A group of us were treated to an evening of superb French music when we recently visited the Guildhall School of Music & Drama for our friend Danica’s violin recital.  She performed works by Debussy, Saint-Saëns and Franck which safe to say, we were not all familiar with, but certainly all enjoyed!

Danica has been attending London City Presbyterian Church for over a year, and has regularly played violin to accompany our hymn singing. (She is also adept at presenting the psalms!) Several of the congregation have enjoyed attending her recitals and concerts while she has studied at the Guildhall.

This was Danica’s final recital before, sadly, she returns to the USA at the end of August. The evening was made particularly special as one of her accompanists was another of our congregation, harpist Mary. It was wonderful to see two of our very gifted musicians perform together.
