Church Outing

Church Outing

This week, members of LCPC were all checking the weather forecast in anticipation of a trip to Richmond Park on Saturday.  Despite predictions of rain, we were blessed with great weather and thirty of us were able to have a lovely afternoon in glorious sunshine.

We set up camp on a hillside near Petersham Gate – close enough to the swing park for the children to play in, and high

enough to be able to spot those of our group who were lost and couldn’t find the meeting point! After eating our picnics in the shade, some played football and rounders, some went looking for deer (Richmond Park is home to over 600 of them) and others took advantage of the uninterrupted view from King Henry’s Mount all the way across to St Paul’s Cathedral, which is ten miles away. Those who stayed the longest also enjoyed tea, cake and ice cream in the beautiful surroundings of nearby Pembroke Lodge.

It was especially nice to also have a few old and new friends from Cobham Presbyterian Church and IPC Ealing come by and join us.  Special thanks go to Marina and Bethan for organising the outing.
