Summer Services

Summer Services

Over the summer we have had a number of special Sunday services.  These included a guest service led by Rev David Robertson from St Peter’s Free Church in Dundee.  David spoke on the subject If God Exists, How Can There Be Evil?  It was a pleasure to have David back with us (he spoke earlier this year about his book Magnificent Obsession).  After the service we enjoyed one of our monthly congregational lunches which gave folk a chance to get to know David, and his wife Annabel better. The following week, we had our annual prize giving for the children of the congregation.  There were a selection of bibles and Christian stories gifted to the 12 children who have regularly attended Sunday School and creche.

More recently, we were joined  by Jack and Nancy Whytock from Dumisani Theological Institute in King William’s Town, South Africa.  Jack led one of our morning services, during which he and Nancy gave a short presentation on the work of Dumisani. It was very interesting to learn more about what goes on there, and we enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time with the Whytocks.
