We were very pleased that our meeting with Rev James Ross from Glasgow was able to go ahead on Saturday 5th December. James was badly delayed due to the severe travel disruption caused by Storm Desmond, but with only a few minutes to spare, he made it to the church in time to speak to us about his work with international students.
It was a very interesting evening, as James spoke about some of the challenges and difficulties that international students face in a new country, and gave us lots of ways to think about how the church can help to meet their needs.
After some further travel problems later that night (this time due to a terrorist incident) James returned to LCPC on Sunday to preach at both our services. He finally made it home to Glasgow late on Monday evening after another difficult journey north. We are very thankful to James for all the effort he went to in order to visit our congregation, and assure him of our prayers over the coming months.
