Sightseeing

On Saturday the 9th of February, a small group from the congregation enjoyed a sightseeing walk along the South Bank – in spite of the rain!

The walk began at Borough Market where the group enjoyed not just the sights and sounds of the busy food stalls, but also some of the tastes! The willing ‘tour guides’ (Margaret and Laura) even stood in a very long queue to purchase delicious coffees for everyone to enjoy, and keep warm with as they walked.

The walk took in several famous landmarks including Sir Francis Drake’s ship – The Golden Hinde – and Shakespeare’s Globe. There was time for a quick look inside Tate Modern, and lunch was enjoyed at the Southbank Centre.

Thanks to Margaret and Laura for organising this event!
