Earlier this month on a Bank Holiday afternoon, a group from LCPC gathered outside St Paul’s tube station, all geared up to go on a treasure hunt. After being divided into teams and given directions, they set off to explore the City’s nooks and crannies to find answers to a variety of questions. Bonus points could be scored by, amongst other things, recording the team singing Oranges and Lemons and getting a photo of a clergyman.
The clues took the treasure hunters from the Old Bailey and Smithfield Market, through a Cambridgeshire alley, to the hidden lanes behind Fleet Street, and finally to the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral where all the teams were presented with extravagant treasure: chocolate buttons! The evening was rounded off with dinner at Pizza Express, where prizes were awarded for the funniest photo, most bonus items collected, best team name and most correct answers.
Everyone had a fantastic day exploring parts of the City they’d never seen before and discovering the rich history permeating the Square Mile. We might just have to do it again, except in a different part of London. What better way to explore and learn more about this great city we live in?!
