At the end of March we had Rev Innes MacSween (assistant minister at Smithton Church, Inverness) join us for a weekend, and we kept him busy with lots to do. Innes had visited LCPC once before, 4 years ago, when he was a Relay Worker for UCCF in Cambridge, and it was great to have him back again.
On Friday night there was a meeting of our 20s and 30s group where Innes shared his testimony and spoke about his calling to ministry, as well as some of his experiences of the last few years. It was an inspiring evening, and his talk was followed by a time of worship together. The group were encouraged and challenged by what Innes had to say, and it was great to have some new people who came along for the first time.
Some of the men of the congregation got together for a meal at Cote Brasserie, near the Barbican centre, on Saturday night (see the main picture above). It was a welcome opportunity to spend some informal quality time together, as well as a chance to get to know Innes better too.
On Sunday, Innes preached at both our services. After celebrating the Lord’s Supper together at the morning service there was our monthly fellowship lunch with plenty of food for everyone.
We are thankful to Innes for coming (especially as he did so at short notice!) and encouraging us with his preaching and teaching.
