Christmas 2016 at LCPC

Christmas 2016 at LCPC

As usual, December was a busy month for the congregation at London City Presbyterian Church. We began the festive season with the LCPC Christmas Party. With crafts, games, food and a quiz there was something for everyone and a great time was had by all. For more photographs of the party, please visit our Facebook page.

Some of our carol singers – and John

Next up was our annual Christmas guest service which is a great opportunity to invite friends and family along to church for the first time. As usual, a group of eager carol singers headed for Barbican Station the day before the service to distribute invitations to passers by. Unfortunately a lot of our usual singers were sick this year, but we were helped for over an hour by a very enthusiastic singer called John!

Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day

Finally, Christmas Day itself arrived. There is no public transport in London at Christmas, and a lot of our congregation go away to visit family, but by pooling together all the cars we could, and making sure that everyone who wanted to come had a lift (or could walk!) we had a good number at our church service. Afterwards, we enjoyed a fantastic Christmas lunch together, and another short time of worship before everyone headed home again. A huge thank you to Gillian and Jan for all the organising and planning that they did to make the day so special for everyone.

As this year ends, we look forward to seeing what God will do through our church in 2017. We look forward to meeting together for worship at 11am and 6.30pm on New Year’s Day, and all are very welcome to join with us.
