Dim Sum, David & Dinner

Dim Sum, David & Dinner

On 1 February, to celebrate Chinese New Year, a few of the Twenties & Thirties group met for dim sum at Saikei in Greenwich. Some of the group were more proficient in the use of chop sticks than others, but with a little help and encouragement everyone was  able to enjoy  the delicious bite sized portions of dumpling, egg rolls, noodles and rice.  Amazingly, folk still had room for dessert so afterwards the group headed to Frankie & Benny’s at The O2 for ice cream, waffles and cheesecake.

darThe following Friday, Rev David Robertson came along to speak about his new book Magnificent Obsession.  He spoke mainly about the chapter in the book which deals with miracles, and answered questions from the audience afterwards.  It was a great evening and it was encouraging to see new faces; non Christian friends and colleagues of the congregation, people from the local area, as well as visitors from other churches.  We pray that David’s book will continue to be read by people who are looking for answers to their questions about Jesus, and that they will come to saving knowledge of Him.

And finally, this weekend saw some of the women of the congregation getting together for a LCPC Ladies’ Night!  A lovely meal was enjoyed in Cote Brasserie at the Barbican Centre very close to the church. It’s hoped that this will be the first of many similar social events in 2014.
