20s & 30s Eat Haggis

20s & 30s Eat Haggis

On Friday night, the first Twenties & Thirties meeting of 2014 took place.  There were some new faces, and an opportunity to try some new tastes.  With it being so close to Burn’s Night, there was haggis, neeps and tatties (and Irn Bru!) on the menu.  Amongst those trying haggis for the first time were those from Brazil, Singapore, Bangladesh and the United States.  Those from Ghana, China, Taiwan, Australia, Canada (and Scotland!) had all had it before…

After food, we spent some time discussing the importance of Christian community and family. We talked about different ways that we could spend more time with each other, and the rest of the congregation. Attending house groups and prayer meetings, as well as Sunday services were all recognised as great ways to strengthen Christian fellowship.

It doesn’t seem like a year since she had her last one, but it was Ayasha’s birthday again, so of course we had cake. Join us in a year’s time when instead of haggis for Burns Night, we’ll have a barbecue in honour of Australia Day!! If you can’t wait that long, Twenties and Thirties next official meeting will be on 7 February at the church for Magnificent Obsession – An Evening with David Robertson.
