Sunday School Prize Giving

Sunday School Prize Giving

After the morning service on Sunday 3rd July we had the annual LCPC Sunday School prize giving. Our pastor, Rev Andy Pearson, presented every child who attends our classes with a certificate and a book in recognition of their hard work and learning. Unfortunately, a few of our own children were away, but it was nice to have some visiting from other places, including Scotland and Indonesia.

Our Sunday School Supervisor, Marina Huey, made an additional presentation to one of the infant children, Colin, who won a Lyle Orr Award earlier in the year after completing a project in the Free Church children’s magazine Compass. Colin travelled to Edinburgh in May where he was presented with a medal at the General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland.

A blog post about our Sunday School would not be complete without making mention of the children’s fundraising efforts for the Free Church Youth Project. In 2015, over £3000 was raised for the Disaster and Relief fund by children across the denomination. Thanks to the initiative of two of our older girls, the LCPC Sunday School collected £128 towards that figure. The 2016 Youth Project aims to provide bibles to people across the world and our Sunday School hopes to raise even more money this year!
